Simple signage lifted the exterior entry

The Shop at Howgill was a children’s charity clothes shop based in the West Cumbria town of Cleator Moor (since moved to Whitehaven). To design and furnish the space we collaborated with the Howgill Family Centre & the Coniston Institute, with design by An Endless Supply. The shop provides a new space to purchase recycled and repurposed children’s clothes, alongside a workshop facility for the development new products; useful and interesting things that will help highlight and enhance local skills.

Recycling previously unwanted goods into useful items, the shop aims to create a dynamic, fully functioning sustainable space that meets the needs of the local community, as well as introducing new creative skills to the area.

The shop collaborates with a range of people, including a dedicated volunteer group and local apprentice painters and decorators from the construction department of Lakes College, who contributed to the refurbishment of the space.
