Lawson Park Open House & Gardens

Join us for a very special celebration of ten years' life and work at our unique hilltop HQ & artists' residency, Lawson Park, launching many new on-site architectural, art & garden initiatives.

“This garden is a triumph”
Eric Robson (Broadcaster, writer & presenter of BBC R4 Gardeners’ Question Time)

Ranging from a vast new picture window onto the awe-inspiring Old Man of Coniston and Coniston Water, to a new outbuilding using the ancient Japanese preservative technique of wood charring (‘Shou-Sugi-Ban’), new features add to existing attractions such as the Lawson Park Library (an extraordinarily wide-ranging cultural reference library with bespoke furnishings) and the Lawson Park Collection, a working collection of British 19th & 20th century domestic design & craft curated by Grizedale Arts’ director of twenty years, Adam Sutherland.

  • Guided expert tours (see below)

  • Artists' talks

  • Light lunches & home-made teas

  • Crafts & publications for sale

  • Exhibition of 'The Black Shed' architectural project

All ticket proceeds will support the charitable work of the Stroke Association.
