Jesse Rae is a Scottish musician and songwriter who found fame in the pop charts in the mid '80s. His album ‘Thistle’ was released in 1987.

In 2007, he stood for the Scottish Parliament as an independent in the Scottish Borders electoral constituency of Roxburgh and Berwickshire. He gained 318 votes for a 1.2% share of the vote.

Jesse was invited to take part in 'Romantic Detachment' (2004) seeing him return to the location of the video for ‘Over the Sea’; New York (See link below, unfortunately this time there was no reckless swinging of a broad sword from on top of a skyscraper).
