Jamie Barnes was the Curator of Keswick Museum and Art Gallery between 2004 and 2009 before pursuing a freelance career that now includes his own practice as a printmaker, museum educator, curator and musician.

Jamie helped Grizedale Arts forge a revival of the playing of a unique slate 'lithophone' (a kind of xylephone made of local slate) of which there are several examples in Lake District museums. The 'Musical Stones of Skiddaw' formed a centrepiece in several Grizedale projects, and were played by musicians including US-based Brian Dewan.

Jamie describes his time working with Grizedale as, 'the most fun job I've ever had'.
