At Grizedale
Clare is a painter with a tendency for European nu-neo-geo formalism. Earlier paintings of interior spaces have devolved into canvases of clean lines, tight abstraction and bare linen.
Now based in Switzerland, Birmingham-born Clare spent time in 2000 on a residency associated with the Grizedale Forest Sculpture Trail/Grizedale Society, Grizedale Arts' predecessor.
