At Grizedale

Brian is an artist and a musician, he has released three solo albums and invents musical instruments with his cousin.

Originally commissioned for Romantic Detachment (2004) Brian created a body of new folk songs based around Roosevelt island, recorded and available on LP and CD. He was also commissioned within Greenland, a project for the A Foundation, in which he wrote and performed with the bells of the Anglican Cathederal, the stone xylophone and the Liverpool Chinese youth orchestra.

He also performed on a stone xylophone on the side of Lake Coniston during the Coniston Water Festival, part of Cumbriana Proof.

The xylophone itself has a long and rich history which can be perused here on Wikipedia (Brian and Grizedale are mentioned in the 'The Story Continues' paragraph).
