Born 1971, United Kingdom. Lives & Works in United Kingdom.
Becky worked with Grizedale over a long period on a work that drew together a number of creative local communities. She started with the car boot sales of Ulverston before discovering the phenomena of the Blue Works, a recently closed factory that used to produce blue dye for the world. The work Blueworks was profiled in the Visitor Centre Gallery and in the car boot sale held at Grizedale entitled Lawless. Becky showed an all blue stall of goods and brought local traditional painters in to make still life studies of the blue objects. These paintings were then given to the hotel that now occupies the site of the original factory.
Like much of Becky's work the project generated exchange, drawing on the impulse to connect and make meaning from the apparently absurd world around us.
