In 2007 Grizedale Arts moved out of their current offices at the Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre and relocated to a new site on the East side of Grizedale Forest, to establish its new centre of operations at Lawson Park Farm. Lawson Park lies at the boundary of the Grizedale and Brantwood estates (home to John Ruskin). It sits on the hillside 200m above Coniston Water; with dramatic views down the Furness Valley and across to the Coniston Fells. The ongoing development involves the conversion of this traditional Lakeland hill farm, into a smallholding with accommodation, offices and research facilities. The principle aims of developing this new building is to offer improved accommodation for resident artists and organisation, allowing for the expansion and development of the organisation's activities. During the re-development (throughout 2008) alternative accommodation is provided within the local area for overnight visitors.
